What you'll do:

• Lead the overall architecture and development of highly scalable React frontend applications that talk to Node JS API services, Lambda functions, and Apollo Federated GraphQL gateways
• Optimize our developer toolchain and CI/CD workflow to support instant provisioning of new services and infrastructure, fully automated deployments, and minimizing development friction
• Be a part of a team with an outsized impact on how frontends are built across the entire company
• Define best practices and processes across the complete SDLC for the teams implementing dynamic and interactive pages using React by consuming REST and GraphQL services
• Create and improve the monitor and alerting tooling that keeps an eye on page load performance and SEO Core Web Vital metrics

What you 'll bring:

• A driven software engineer who is motivated to build great products and a great codebase in a fast-paced environment with prior team lead and Architect-level experience across the full stack
• Able to take requirements and build something that's simple yet impactful, minimalistic yet beautiful, extensible yet maintainable
• Independent and can manage your own projects and time with ease, all the while setting and managing stakeholder expectations
• Strong communication skills with a growth and learning mindset
• Able to lead other engineers to deliver large-scale projects
• Experienced with developing complex software systems using modern frameworks, tools, and systems
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to make data-driven decisions
• 10+ years of experience developing software in modern programming languages
• 5 years of frontend development experience
• 3 years team lead experience
• Experienced in building server-side rendered single-page applications
• Experienced with implementing progressive web applications and service workers
• Expert in isomorphic JavaScript, CSS/SaSS, and HTML
• Deep understanding of how to monitor and tune application performance
• Experienced in building large-scale internet applications
• Experience with modern CI/CD systems (CircleCI is a plus)
• Experience with modern orchestration tooling such as Kubernetes (ArgoCD is a plus)
• Experience with containerization tooling (Docker is a plus)
• Prior exposure to cloud-based architectures, development, and deployment (ModuleFederation is a plus)
• Familiar with cloud technologies such as AWS EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, Kubernetes
• Have an AB testing mindset where everything that gets deployed can be measured for impact and to derive insights
• Understands computer science fundamentals, design patterns, schema design, and best practices
• Earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/related field or equivalent professional experience
