Senior Statutory Accountant

• Responsible for all Statutory reporting and compliance for the finance team on a quarterly and annual basis. 
• Assist in compiling GAAP & non-GAAP financial statements and reporting packages, including Budget Vs. Actual and KPI’s on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Supervise, manage and guide the monthly close activities.
• Assess technical accounting issues related to Statutory accounting regulations for appropriate financial treatment.
• Assist with worldwide consolidations and intercompany transactions.
• Deliver quality documentation to our external auditors to complete our annual audit.
• Assist with compilation of information for corporate tax returns & provisions.
• Coach and mentor staff on the team.
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in special projects, or ad hoc analyses as assigned.

• Work experience as a Assistant Controller or Statutory Accounting Manager or similar role
• 6+ years of progressive Accounting experience with a background in Property and Casualty Insurance and more specifically with Statutory reporting..
• Track record of working with leading statutory accounting software and the filings with the NAIC and various state insurance departments.
• Track record of leading, growing, and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on hands-on development and coaching
• CPA strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Netsuite preferred
• Proactive and self-motivated to solve problems; comfortable with a high degree of responsibility in ambiguous situations
• Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and completeness
• Adaptable to a fast changing work environment while able to work well under stress and tight deadlines.
