SUMMARY
The Senior Strategic Project Manager will work as part of our Partnerships team that enables our ecosystem programs including Academic, Startup and Developer Partner Programs. In this role, the manager will be responsible for ensuring and managing progress on defined strategic projects. The Senior Strategic Project Manager will work with key stakeholders across the Ansys organization as well as with key partners externally. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, the manager will track project status while mitigating issues and risks and keeping stakeholders moving forward. While some strategic projects will have a clear start and end, there is long-term potential for ownership of mature projects that become part of our core program strategy. This position is part of a team that has a can-do culture with a strong sense of rolling your sleeves up to help and enable broader efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage multiple projects across the Academic, Startup and Developer Partner Programs team that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Connect the big picture between projects and the defined program goals
- Lead the creation of project-specific deliverables, identifying and pulling in appropriate stakeholders, managing team contributions, and providing overall progress towards desired result
- Create status reports for leadership outlining progress of project activities as well as potential challenges and risks
- Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree
- A desire to learn new things and take on new challenges
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
- Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, and execute with limited information and ambiguity
- Experience in partnering with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify and address project issues and deliver desired project outcomes
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations, and a proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
- Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
- Sound business and technical acumen
- Experience in technical or software company preferred
