About the role:

Data and Analytics is a critical team within Marketing. Our mission is to enable revenue performance by providing marketing and sales teams with the insights, tools, infrastructure and consultation to make data driven decisions. We are a scrappy and growing team that loves all things data! The team will be composed of data engineers, analytics managers and data scientists. In this role, you will: 
  • Be a thought partner with stakeholders in Sales and Marketing to surface actionable insights and recommendations
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leverage data to drive business solutions
  • Leverage predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources to improve the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts throughout the sales funnel
  • Identify, build and analyze key metrics and traffic patterns to measure attribution and performance of marketing programs
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis to uncover pipeline and campaign performance gaps
  • Contributing to Marketing initiatives to offer ideas and facilitate the establishment and measurement of KPIs
  • Communicate insights using data visualization and presentations to a range of stakeholders
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5+ years in an analytical or data science and problem solving role
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an emphasis on data analysis
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate and surface insights from large data sets
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world pros and cons
  • Advanced Excel/google sheets skills including pivots, vlookups or index/match, and ability to build complex and clearly structured models
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to see a project through to the end
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced business environment
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to succinctly communicate results and tell compelling stories with data
  • Familiarity with web analytics and tracking platforms

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience analyzing B2B marketing strategies, channels and lifecycle identifying areas of opportunity and optimization
  • Knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce.com and Google Analytics
  • Experience working with Segment and MixPanel
  • Familiarity with Marketing Technologies (MarTech stacks)
  • Advanced user of Salesforce with ability to create custom native reporting 
  • Experience integrating data from core Sales and Marketing platforms (e.g. Marketing Automation, CRM, and web analytics)
  • Hands-on experience working with Data Bricks and/or Google Big Query
  • Data Science, machine learning or predictive analytics experience

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs).  A new hire RSU award is awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers are eligible to receive above target equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$128,860$189,500 USD
