Senior Style Writer (all genders)

We are looking for a Senior Style Writer to join our team either in London or Berlin. The Senior Style Writer will play a key role in managing Highsnobiety’s award-winning news team (which span across two offices in NYC and London), covering timely topics in the world of fashion, youth culture, and streetstyle.

This position requires someone who is well-reversed in fashion and culture and can add a point of view and unique angle to what is happening in the industry rather than just rephrasing today’s never-ending stream of releases and trends. The ideal applicant should have excellent writing, communication skills and be a proactive team player who is happy to work collaboratively with teams across Highsnobiety. They should be able to write snappy, thought-provoking news stories, as well as work on longer form features about larger trends within the industry.

This role will work closely with the editorial team based in NYC, as well as content teams based in Berlin.

YOUR MISSION:

• Oversee the output of news posts during the EU working hours, including writing and/or assigning 5-8 news posts per week
• Write 2 longer features per month, on timely topics that are relevant to our audience
• Follow best practices to optimize news stories for SEO purposes
• Incorporate audience insights into editorial strategy; absorb performance reporting and refine the team’s output and efforts accordingly
• As needed, step in to support the Editor-in-chief & Executive Editor on special projects, special issue content packages, & .com coverage for key fashion & cultural moments throughout the year (ie. Fashion Weeks, Met Gala, CFDA, etc)

YOUR SKILLS:

• 5+ years professional experience writing news and features for media companies (ideally within the fashion space)
• Strong news judgment, a keen eye for detail, and high standards for accuracy and clarity
• Robust knowledge and passion of the Highsnobiety brand and our core content topic 
• Solid  editing skills related to the field
• The ability to adapt to fast-paced work environments 
• A sharp instinct for story angles and confident point of view about what is going on in fashion and youth culture
• A truly collaborative spirit 
• The ability to thrive under deadlines but also handle the unexpected with a sense of calm
