Job Description
The National Claims team is hiring, and we are actively looking for a Senior Claim Advisor, Subrogation to join our team! You will report to the Manager, National Subrogation & Salvage.

Role Designation: Hybrid

Accountabilities:

• Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to the total amount of recovery dollars, file closures, claims leakage control and expense management

• Develop and execute on equitable recovery strategies on all appropriate files.

• Develop and execute on Subrogation investigation strategies in collaboration with other claims units.

• Obtain prompt and reasonable settlement recoveries directly with policy holders and third parties or through external resources

• Work with and direct external vendors (legal counsel, engineers) to ensure prompt and considerable recoveries while controlling expenses

• To assist claim employees in identifying and investigating subrogation opportunities

• Work independently in validating the potential recovery on claims

• Take appropriate steps to secure evidence, engage with outside counsel and participate in legal proceedings

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Property, Automobile and Subrogation claims handling acquired through 3-5+ years of claims handling experience

• Excellent negotiation skills

• Superior problem solving ability

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to collaborate to reach goals

• Highly motivated and able to work well independently

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

Bonus Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent is preferred.

• Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferred.

• Previous paralegal experience is an asset

• Licensed for other regions is an asset

• Experience in working on Guidewire an asset
