Senior Sustaining Engineer
Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Sustaining Engineer to delve into different aspects of the software and hardware that make up our large-scale micro-fulfillment product. You will be investigating customer issues to determine root causes and fix them. This is a fantastic opportunity if you love working in a variety of technologies and solving puzzles.
What will you do?
- Dive into code to troubleshoot and fix issues
- Partner with the operations team to provide proactive support and technical guidance.
- Work closely with peers to share technical solutions and best practices.
- Identify and clearly communicate issues, status, risks, and metrics
- Create tools to proactively identify issues
- Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software issues at production sites
- Support deployments
What are we looking for?
- 4+ years of experience in Core Java development (version 8 or above)
- 2+ years of experience with web development and a SPA framework such as Angular or React
- Working knowledge of Linux (CentOS system management)
- Working knowledge of bash shell scripting
- Understanding of state machines.
- Working knowledge of source control systems (git) and software build systems (Jenkins)
- Familiarity with Docker
- Familiarity with Redis and Kafka (nice to have, but not required)
