Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Senior System Director, Engineer or Architect, ADAS and Compute located in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Flex Farmington Hills, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is a fast-paced design center servicing global customer in the automotive sector. We offer full product development including overall system architecture development, hardware and mechanical design and software development. Flex has an ISO certified environmental and EMC labs in Toronto, Ontario as well as testing chambers, equipment & system design and build capabilities in Farmington Hills.

What a typical day looks like:

• Lead the technical development of strategic engagement on new business pursuits: Ownership for technical aspects of future generation products (i.e. ADAS, scalable compute, etc), or large scale products/projects requiring long term customer engagement coordination with the business development, product line management and engineering teams.
• Build relationships with key customer engineering chiefs, directors, architects, engineers
• Build knowledge of key customer OEM vehicle architectures and current and future trends
• Formulate technical and business pursuit strategies that satisfy requirements.
• Lead customer engagements by demonstrating Flex values and showcase Flex technologies
• You provide insights and engineering support and leadership for sales presentations and technical solutions discussions, with prospective customers.
• Organize RFI and RFQ responses.
• Define technical solutions to meet requirements

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Someone with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. electrical or electronic engineering) as well as the skillset and experience to have in-depth conversations with experts in the field
• Knowledge of leading-edge, scalable technology solutions for ADAS, L2 and beyond
• Design experience of in vehicle CPU/GPU computing platforms, and good understanding of the component landscape, bringing automotive computing platform electronics design into production
• Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art computing systems and interfaces required for sensors, actuators, firmware development, in vehicle bus architectures
• Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO, IEC, ASPICE and others (e.g. Certified Competent Assessor Automotive SPICE)
• Ability to travel internationally and someone who is comfortable engaging directly with customers, developing engineering proposals for customer sales engagements
