Responsibilities

The System Engineering (Senior) Manager - is responsible for leading the battery (or energy storage) system engineering solution design up to making it happen in all aspects, from Request for Information [RFI] (or 'Request For Quotation' [RFQ] ) until 6 months after Start of Production. They will be the guarantor of customer satisfaction in product and engineering in conjunction with the achievement of product development Timing, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives while ensuring profitability throughout the entire product lifecycle. The main missions of the role are to:

• Develop strong relationships and manage the ongoing negotiations with the customer as the official Gotion Global product technical and engineering representative.
• Lead the engineering clarification discussion with customers and provide engineering solutions timely to meet customer demands on technology, product, timing, and cost.
• Precisely interpret customers’ product and technical requirements, demand, and input into the design dashboard. Breakdown and cascade system requirements into sub-systems and components
• Prepare and submit the RFI and RFQ engineering feedback and get alignment/approval from the customer.
• Liaise with the program manager, build the initial product and technical roadmap plan, define the product engineering development cost, and pending scheme in compliance with controlling procedures; take economical responsibility for all deviations from initial requirements.
• Launch and monitor the product: track development progress by updating the engineering health chart, product design, verification, and validation dashboard and budget reports, and by leading reviews of product development steps and results.
• Conduct risk/opportunity analysis and develop and implement appropriate action plans.
• Arbitrate any conflicts with the customer on technical issues.
• Staff, manage, and coordinate cross-functional production development teams (Program, Controlling, Purchasing, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Research, Product & Process engineering), and define team members' objectives and assignments.
• Create a "Product Development Management Culture" by ensuring processes defined in the Gotion Global Product Development System (PDS) are applied at all steps, and by developing synergies between all actors involved in the product.
• Organize communications throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure product smoothly transfers from Development Center, Production Plant to the Customer.
• Organize key product information to ensure Product continuity and contribute to knowledge management. Manage the product design efficiency in engineering and cost

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have/be:
• Fluency in English
• Master's degree, ideally in engineering
• Minimum 4-7 years of job experience (in new energy vehicle development center, battery system design, system sizing, BMS, thermal management, CAD/CAE virtual engineering, OEM’s Tier1 supplier, energy storage system solution designer/provider, or similar industrial environment and/or with product experience a plus)
• Minimum 3-5 years of project experience

• Good knowledge of the traction battery/ energy storage assembly process
• Good knowledge of product standards, design rules, tools, and methods

• Strong engineering development & tool cost and budget management knowledge
• Problem solving techniques, such as FMEA, 8D, 6Sigma, SPC, MSA, etc.

• Willing to do overseas travelling
