Digital Assets Trading

IEX is building a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets with a new initiative that intends to give investors a transparent and compliant way to trade digital assets. We just announced plans to work with the leading cryptocurrency exchange, FTX, to establish a clear, simple, and transparent market structure for buying, selling and trading digital asset securities. Senior System Reliability Engineer

As a Senior System Reliability Engineer, you will be an insatiably curious tinkerer with technical chops, who has done this type of role before.

In this role, you’ll be constantly optimizing and automating our processes and systems to improve reliability, scalability, and reduce toil. Plus, you’ll participate in systems design and take on real-time responsibilities, such as monitoring, incident management, and recovery. 

Experience in an agile environment is a plus, and a willingness to tackle the challenge of innovating within a regulated environment is key. 

About You: 

• Experience running high availability cloud deployments with a major provider ( AWS, GCP or Azure ) 
• Experience automating systems administration tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform and languages such as Python, Bash or Go
• Experience with cloud monitoring and observability
• Comfortable with git and Infrastructure As Code workflows
• General familiarity with Data Center workflows
• Curious, collaborative and humble team player
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Strong belief in IEX's mission to leverage technology to build fair markets

What You'll Do:  

• Administration of production core trading infrastructure – monitoring, deployments and troubleshooting
• Build tools to monitor systems and automate processes around the core trading network and server infrastructure
• Core contributor to our change management and blameless post mortem processes
• Troubleshoot issues across the whole stack – hardware, software, applications, and network
• Capacity planning and performance engineering related projects
• Collaborate with other business functions (e.g., development, market operations, business development, subscribers, etc.) to bring best of breed product to market with reliability and observability as core tenets

• An interest in the stock or crypto markets (finance experience not required - only a desire to learn all about the inner workings of the market)
