Senior System Software Test Engineer

Job Description

ASRC Federal, Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.We are seeking a highly motivated Senior System Test Engineer to support the Ship Self-Defense System development in Moorestown, NJ.

Responsibilities: Work in a collaborative team providing Integration and Test support for the development and sustainment of Mission Critical Real-Time Systems, performing the following tasks:

• Operate using Agile software delivery methodology.
• Ensuring the development and maintenance of regression test suites.
• Analyzing requirements for integration and/or testability issues.
• Support continuous improvement by refining our testing process.
• Work within a cross-functional development team of 3 to 15 engineers.
• Develop or update system level test plans and test procedures along with associated regression test plans and procedures.
• Performing all aspects of verification (functional, structural, regression, and system testing).
• Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts).
• Partnering with Scrum Master to drive continuous improvement within the Agile team.
• Assemble the solution / product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behavior, interactions and performance, and to confirm that the requirements against which the solution / product has been designed are fulfilled.
• Develop automation scripts and work in staging and integration test environments and, when needed, troubleshoot production issues to identify root cause and enhance the testing automation suite.
• Manage and maintain automated testing frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in any of the following: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics.
• US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• 5-7 years of experience in software development and/or testing software.
• Excellent and communication skills required.
• Strong understanding of where QA (System Test) fits within the SDLC.
• Enthusiastic about building test suites and tools that automate processes.
• Ability to take on projects and operate with minimal oversight desired.
• Ability to write detailed test cases and execute testing for a real-time mission critical weapon system.
• Acquainted with Jenkins or similar continuous integration software.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Automated Test methodologies.
• Experience with CMMI Level 5 life cycle processes and procedures.
• Understanding of SDLC principles and Agile Methodologies utilizing JIRA framework.
• Experience in writing test cases and executing in an embedded hardware/software environment.
• Experience working with and communicating effectively with development teams.
• Strong skills with MS Office.

Experience with the following tools is a plus:

• JIRA (Issue and bug tracking tool)
• Confluence
• Jenkins (Continuous Integration tool)
