Parsons is now hiring fully qualified Senior Systems administrators, experienced in systems and network administrative methods and practices with a passion for providing systems support on a variety of highly complex tasks. In this role you will provide test and evaluation programmatic as well as technical support to mission partners. You'll be working in the cybersecurity and classified IT department. Parsons is looking for a sharp Senior Systems Administrator to join our elite, multi-discipline team of Engineers and Analysts on multiple programs, contributing to the pioneering effort to develop the next generation network capability for multiple Mission Partners.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining software, hardware, and networks
- Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through access controls, backups, and firewalls
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Contribute knowledge to the build out of Knowledge Base articles (KBs)
- Assist team with responding to and tracking tickets
- Willingness to assist in equipment transfers as required to include: server racks, client workstations, UPS, etc.
- Assist with occasional cabling needs to include rerunning and terminating ends
- Assist the team with initial build outs of areas and networks to include proposal support
- Performing STIG/SCAP scans, reviews, and manual checklists
- Ensuring timely vulnerability scans are accomplished and reported
- Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
- 6+ years of experience in a systems administration or equivalent role
- Security+ CE certification
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Working knowledge of Windows and RHEL administration (Windows 10/Server 2019, RHEL 6/7/8/9)
- Experience with Linux and the Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Working knowledge of security assessment/compliance products (HBSS, ACAS, OpenSCAP, ePO, SCC, SCCM/MECM)
- Functional/Operational knowledge of VMware
- Experience with system automation and configuration management
- Familiarity with network administration of routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Must be able to work in a production/operational environment
Desired skills:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
- Experience with databases, networks, and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Excellent communication, leadership experience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong Troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of an Agile framework and/or Configuration Change Board (CCB)/ Request for Change (RFC)
- Experience with BASH, PowerShell, etc as it relates to automating tasks
- Experience with management, automation, and deployment of virtualized platforms (VMs, Containers, other)
- At least one of the following: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Server, VMware Certified Associate (VCA), or other job-related certifications
- Experience or familiarity with air-gapped and/or disconnected systems
