Senior Systems Administrator

As a System Admin with IBM you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of and access to our most important resource: data.

We’re looking for a talented system administrator to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of hundreds of servers. You’ll be working with intelligent global distributed team. You will have an opportunity to see the whole lifecycle of providing services for a large community project. We expect you to be a careful person who notices important details.

Your Role and Responsibilities
* Create Ansible playbooks and maintain useful written information about our infrastructure
* Care and feeding of hundreds of physical machines including purchasing as we need to replace EOL machines
* Support internal customers by resolving incident and service requests
* Coordinate with members of the global Storage Engineering team
* Participate in continuous improvement
* Lead / Mentor other team members

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Great troubleshooting and debugging skills and a passion for problem solving
* Advanced experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux CentOS or Fedora
* Experience with hybrid cloud technologies e.g. OpenShift OpenStack Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Experience with tools like Ansible Bash Python Git
* Experience with enterprise data center operations and monitoring
* Ability to work in a geographically distributed team
* Willingness to embrace challenge with a positive attitude and a solid customer focus
* Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
