The Gogo Business Aviation Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the system architecture, design, specifying technical requirements for aviation telecommunications equipment, enterprise test planning, aiding with system integration definition, supporting field testing, and facilitating user acceptance and operation readiness testing of aviation telecommunications equipment and ground-based software support solutions.

How will you make a difference?

• Provide system architecture development for new products, in conjunction with generating systems architecture and integration guidance for design engineers
• Effectively communicate design guidance, architecture, requirements, complex system features, and integrations to other engineering and non-engineering stakeholders as a leading voice on the program
• Work with a cross-functional team to define new products and features, including capture, analysis, and articulation from Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams
• Diplomatically communicate technical issues and resolution paths to a variety of engineering and business stakeholders
• Specification and design of subsystems and equipment covering avionics and telecommunication systems. This will include the integration of subsystems into various avionics and ground support systems.
• Analyze new technology trends and provide feedback, planning leadership, and proof of concept results to help address customer needs
• Where many technical solutions are viable, teams can have differing views on the technical approach. You will resolve these conflicts and guide the team toward the right technical solution.
• Generate system test plans for hardware and software development efforts, as well as guidance for test phases covering the entire product life cycle, including proof of concept, lab, field (drive/flight testing), and production testing
• Validate system design per high-level requirement specifications collaboratively with cross-functional delivery teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 4-7 years of System Engineer, Software Development Engineer, Hardware Engineer, or Aircraft Engineer
• 2+ years of experience with avionics, integration, or similar aerospace applications.

Required Experience, Skills, and Talents

• Experience conducting requirements analysis and decomposing product requirements into system, software, and hardware requirements
• Functioning in a configuration-controlled and government-regulated (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254) environment.
• Understanding of delivering embedded hardware and software products following traditional V-Model processes
• Proficient in conducting requirements analysis and reviewing detailed designs for testability
• Knowledge of developing and executing detailed integration test plans for systems comprised of multiple varied subsystems
• Ability to independently manage and run various non-related projects concurrently
• Writing technical documentation in a configuration-controlled environment

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Talents

• Involvement in the telecommunications or wireless environment
• Generating link budgets and deployment of wireless voice/data networks
• Knowledge of wireless technologies and/or satellite communication such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, CDMA, LTE, Iridium, Ka, etc
• Designing, coordinating, and facilitating User Acceptance/Operational Readiness Test events for multiple stakeholders
• Working with embedded Linux-based systems and command line/shell usage
• Familiarity with Business management systems (PLM, CRM, ERP systems) and how they affect product delivery and lifecycle
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Integrating, verifying, or validating complex systems comprising multiple sub-systems

Base Pay:
111,200.00 - 139,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
