Senior Systems Engineer

Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (SE) for requirements elicitation/refinement, scheduling of work breakdowns to deliverables, and documentation of artifacts. The SE shall have strong project management skills to provide the engineering and project management for end-to-end data flows in support of the Data Normalization & Automation (DNA). The successful candidate will be able to provide roadmaps and schedules for implementing end-to-end data flows, including transformation into a standard data model. The individual will form good customer relationships and reach out to external customers for requirements and understanding of the data and the data needs of the users. They will have a good understanding of the customer data flow architecture. They will work as a key contributor in an agile development environment. The SE will apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. The SE will also interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. The SE will also be communicating with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. The SE's responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
• Or a High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience (any process area).
• Or a Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
• Or a PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.

Note 1 - Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.

Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.

Candidates are required to have the following skills:

• Good working skills with Atlassian products such as Confluence and Jira
• Good understanding of data flow processes
• Understands system to system connections for data flow processes
• Basic understanding of NiFi; should understand what a flow file attribute is, or be able to learn it quickly
• Familiar with data formats such as CSV, JSON, PCAP, XML
• Knows why a streaming object transport format is needed
• Highly organized and comfortable with customer engagement
• Good interpersonal skills to coordinate with customers and other scrum team members
• Self starter, comfortable working tasking with little direction

Candidates are desired to have the following skills:

• Knowledgeable and experience in Operations and/or CNO strongly desired
