Senior Systems Engineer

Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior Systems Engineer to work as part of a highly engaged team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN). This role is focused on developing Allegion's next generation IoT platform, connecting Allegion's electromechanical locks and access control systems for Residential and Commercial environments. In this role, you will be a key contributor to a team of cross-functional product development engineers and contribute to overall product definition, architecture development, and system integration activities that span software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical design components. You will be primarily focused on working with internal and external stakeholders to define solution level software requirements, ensuring that device manufacturers and Allegion's software integration partners are delighted with the solution offered by the IoT platform. You'll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.
What you'll do:
- Work with business leaders to define product requirements that meet customer, marketing, and internal stakeholder needs
- Contribute to the Agile Release Train (ART) PI Planning ceremony, ensuring the agile software teams can meet the delivery needs required by the business
- Work with key stakeholders to define interface control documents (ICDs) for next generation Allegion devices connecting to Allegion's IoT platform
- Lead structured problem-solving, requirement decomposition, and requirement verification activities.
- Support a technical or systems lead to define system requirements.
- Support program requirement management (requirement elicitation and decomposition through verification) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities.
- Drive program activities to meet program schedule milestones.
- Develop required design documentation, including functional block diagrams, FMEAs, system architecture drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and product test requirements.
- Develop appropriate documentation required to support product certifications.
- Work in a highly collaborative, hybrid work environment.
What we're looking for:
- Strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Emerging leadership skills.
- Demonstrated systems engineering fundamental skills, including design by requirements, requirement traceability, requirement verification and validation.
- Demonstrated experience with Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
- Sound structured problem-solving skills and experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- BS or higher in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university.
- 5+ years of new product development or product sustaining experience.
- [Optional, not required]: INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification.
- [Optional, not required]: Knowledge of cybersecurity methods and protocols, cloud service architectures (AWS, Azure), or low-power wireless communications products (BLE, Zigbee, ZWave).

Compensation:
This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual salary will be based on your skills and experience, along with other factors.
- The expected Base Salary Range: $67,800 - $126,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
