Senior Systems Engineer

Are you up to the challenge?

• You are a self-starter, able to work with a team, and agile in your day-to-day priorities.
• You will demonstrate your ability to design, install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair both server hardware and Linux operating systems in a remote location.

Can you drive these processes?
Your responsibilities will include Linux and server hardware support. You will create and complete procedures; create and perform scripts; provide troubleshooting support for architecture, infrastructure, and network engineering teams on the servers you are responsible for. You will use troubleshooting procedures and technical information to identify severity of incidents and carry out accordingly the resolution process; research issues that do not have a recognized solution and prepare a resolution process; maintain local documentation, which gets updated on all features of servers.
You should definitely have:

• Must have a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of systems engineering experience and in-depth knowledge of systems engineering and Linux system administration best practices.
• The engineer should have experience in a position that requires 24x7 support.
• The engineer must have 3+ years' experience with setting up and maintaining automated Linux configuration systems such as Kickstart, Ansible or Puppet.
• The engineer must be able to write scripts in bash, python and perl and have knowledge of SNMP, SMTP.

It would be nice if you had:

• Knowledge of virtual hosting systems such as KVM and Nutanix.
• Knowledge of how switches, routers, and firewalls
• Working knowledge of access and trunk ports, VLANs and other networking fundamentals
• Must be able to communicate effectively with a network engineer support personnel.
• Knowledge of how to configure MySQL and PostgreSQL and be able to setup replication, are a plus.
