Senior Systems Engineer (Architecture & CONOPS Support)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting and preparing the CONOPS & Systems Architecture for the Enterprise/Mission level.
• Support project execution
• Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions and technologies, supporting improvements roll-out when agreed with leadership team.
• Develop architecture and conops solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Foster a collaborative team environment.
• Actively engage with program teams to provide solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation •

Must-haves:

• Bachelor of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 (ten) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
• Understanding of CONOPS and Systems Architecture development and approaches
• Knowledge of decomposing and deriving requirements from CONOPS and Systems Architectures
• Excellent organizational, self-initiative, and communication skills
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Creative problem solver, able to offer visual solutions.
• Familiar with Enterprise Architect
• Previous systems architecture experience

Preferred:

• Experience with supporting baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
• Knowledge of industry standard system engineering design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
• Background in human spaceflight
• Ability to work with minimal information or direction to formulate proposed plans for resolving design/requirement solutions.
• Experience presenting technical content and communicating effectively
• Experience with Jira and Confluence

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,552.10 - $165,759.14
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
