The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for identifying design and development requirements for enhancing existing products and new product initiatives. Analyze Market Requirement Specifications (MRS) and generate detailed Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS) to drive development teams. Work directly with customers or business development engineers to identify product needs and gaps. Breakdown customer's product requirements into system requirements and develop the system architecture and high-level system design. Provide leadership to cross functional teams to help bring these product initiatives to market in a timely manner.

The Systems Engineer will support products throughout the life cycle and will attend technical meetings with the team members and product managers to fully cover all aspects of the system life cycle (product concept, development planning and execution, deployment).

The candidate will apply best system engineering practices to guarantee the adherence to defined requirements and quality standards with adequate traceability.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior SW Systems Engineer:

• Accurate translation of customer/mission needs into well-defined technical requirements. Propose and gain consensus for a system architecture that meets the defined technical requirements.
• Technical interface between Product Manager, Project Manager/Coordinator, and Engineering teams; Regarding architecture capabilities, requirements, and use cases to define product life-cycle updates
• Execution of system engineering tasks and processes to ensure technical integrity of the system throughout the life cycle of the product; The responsibility shall include, but not be limited to, development of concept of operations, requirements, architecture design, interface control, system integration, test strategy & test plan, validation, and verification
• Will perform functional analysis, requirement validation & verification, technical planning, and management
• Perform trade studies and system analysis with modeling, and simulations
• Lead/participate in gate, product, and program reviews

REQUIREMENTS:

• The Senior Systems Engineer will need a BS or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar field
• A minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated engineering experience in multidisciplinary product development
• Strong ability to solve problems in logic, mathematics, and engineering
• Experience in testing, verifying, and integrating software and hardware systems
• Solid understanding of System Engineering development life cycle and change management process
• Experience with system and sub-systems planning and how to drive integration on complex products containing hardware and software components
• Experience in systems engineering functions: concept of operations development, requirements management, and integration, verification, and validation
• Write and conduct integration tests and verification plans
• Experience working in an agile development environment and being part of a highly integrated team collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams
• Experience working with project management and requirements management tools
