Senior Systems Software Engineer - Atlas

As a Systems Software Engineeron the Atlas R&D team, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians to support the development and testing of new technologies for Atlas and other prototype robots at Boston Dynamics. In this role you will have the opportunity to maintain a variety of on- and off-robot software systems across our growing fleet. How you will make an impact:

• Work within the cross-disciplinary Atlas team to design, implement, and review software that supports robot systems and operations
• Automate the updating of on-robot software across Atlas and other robotic devices
• Provide hands-on technical support and utilities for debugging robot software system failures

We are looking for:

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux Bash programming
• Technical experience with low-level systems like Linux OS, device drivers, multi-host networking, and microcontroller firmware.
• Hands-on use of developer tools including vscode, Git, and GitHub
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree/equivalent experience

Nice to have:

• Experience building and deploying Python Qt GUIs
• Linux networking protocols, e.g. CAN, Ethernet, PCIe
• DevOps systems and workflows, e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Bazel
