What does it mean to be a Senior Tax Accountant at GLS?

At GLS, our Senior Tax Accountants are responsible for preparing and reviewing book-to-tax adjustments, managing various tax reports and records, and preparing and reviewing tax returns for the Company and its affiliates.

How will you drive value within the organization as a Senior Tax Accountant?

• Review and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual taxable income estimates and allocations processes
• Assist in the preparation, delivery, and communication of quarterly tax distributions to Company ownership
• Accurately prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for the Company and its affiliates
• Assist with managing periodic state and local tax filings and federal information reporting
• Effectively engage with Company ownership to discuss taxable income estimates, reporting, and forms
• Collaborate with senior management and external tax advisors to research tax planning opportunities
• Develop, prepare, and review ad-hoc reports as needed for Company ownership and stakeholders

What should you already know to be a successful Senior Tax Accountant?

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required
• 1-3 years’ experience in tax accounting and income tax preparation in either a public accounting or corporate setting
• Demonstrated experience of income tax form review
• CPA or current CPA exam candidate
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to create efficiencies
• Excellent mathematical and computational skills
• Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of standard business applications such Microsoft Dynamics GP, Excel, Microsoft Office suite, and database management programs; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Team player that can adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment 

Employment Requirements:

• Pre-employment background screen requiredRemain in a stationary position up to 100% of the workday
• Constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment
• Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
• The position does not require travel
• This is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times. Generally, days and hours of work are between Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
