Summary We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team in Encinitas. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality tax services to our clients, ensuring compliance with regulations while contributing to our firm's reputation for excellence. Responsibilities • Preparation of a variety of compliance forms (corporations, partnerships, trusts, individuals) with an emphasis on efficiency and quality. • Preparation of tax return workpapers and supporting schedules in a manner consistent with professional standards. • Analyze financial information such as balance sheets, fixed asset ledger, and income statements during the tax preparation process. • Identify accounting, business and tax issues/opportunities and develop solutions/recommendations. • Perform tax research and summarize conclusions in written form. • Assist with the training and mentoring of the junior tax accountants. • Clearly communicate recommendations verbally and in writing. • Handle special projects as needed. • Ensure professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate. • Growth opportunity – work closely with partners to establish skills necessary for account management responsibilities Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting • EA or CPA License preferred • 3-4 years public accounting experience, with strong accounting skills • Possess a solid understanding of accounting theory, tax, and accounting practices • Have exceptional organizational skills with excellent attention to detail • Be a highly motivated self-starter and successful in a team-oriented setting • Be able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines • Be able to quickly process information and master complex concepts • Demonstrate integrity within a professional environment. • Exceptional at prioritization and time management, sometimes within tight deadlines • Positive attitude combined with a sense of ownership • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization – from business owners and executives to administrative team members and vendors • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information tactfully • Experience in accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Lacerte, and SmartVault a plus • Ability to work additional hours January through April and during extension deadline season Job Type: Full-time Pay: $92,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Bereavement leave • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Opportunities for advancement • Paid sick time • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: Hybrid remote in Encinitas, CA 92024
