Senior Tax Analyst

The Sr Tax Analyst manages all indirect compliance, assists with state tax audits and monitors existing and emerging tax laws for potential impact on Verisign.

Responsibilities:

• Manages all indirect compliance including sales/use, property, unclaimed property, gross receipts, BPOL, B&O, VAT, business licenses, annual reports, monthly tax calendar and similar filings
• Assists with all state tax audits
• Reviews and approves all purchase requisitions, sales contracts and set up of billing codes to ensure correct tax category code is assigned
• Research taxability of services in new and existing jurisdictions
• Monitors existing and emerging tax law changes, assesses the impact on the company and documents findings
• Assists in implementation related to state tax issues   
• Manages all monthly general ledger, tax reconciliations, sales and use tax accruals, prepaid and monthly taxes remitted and FAS 5 reserves
• Liaises with MIS to ensure proper functionality of sales tax engine/database
• Responsible for maintaining set up of indirect tax engine (Sabrix); liaises with AP, AR, Payroll and Accounting regarding tax payments and escheatable property      

Requirements:

• 4-year Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of related experience direct tax management in public accounting and/or large corporate environment
• Thorough personal property tax knowledge and ability to prepare returns with minimal assistance
• Ability to filter through large data files
• Oversight of state and local tax audits
• Experience with OneSource Indirect Tax Determination (SABRIX)
• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP/general ledger systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Confidence when dealing with other departments, outside service providers and upper management

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

If you live in CO, CA, NY, Washington State the annualized pay range for this role is $77,500 - $104,900.

The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
