PeopleCert is currently looking for a Senior Tax Associate, who will be an integral part of our in-house tax team, responsible for delivering high-quality tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to support the company’s financial and strategic goals both in a national and an international level. The role involves working closely with internal departments to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, providing strategic tax advice, and identifying tax-saving opportunities
As a Senior Tax Associate, your tasks will include the following:
- Oversee compliance with tax regulations for all business entities, including corporate income, sales, use, and property taxes.
- Provide tax planning strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities and enhance its overall financial position.
- Conduct thorough analysis of the company’s transactions and business activities to identify tax-saving opportunities and manage tax risks.
- Keep the company updated on relevant tax law changes and how they may impact the business.
- Work closely with internal departments such as finance, legal, and accounting to provide tax-related guidance and support.
- Act as the key contact for tax-related inquiries from other teams, helping to resolve complex tax issues and provide insights.
- Support the tax team in managing day-to-day activities and in implementing tax process improvements.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and emerging legislation, providing recommendations for the company’s tax strategy.
- Assist with internal and external tax audits, including gathering information, preparing responses, and communicating with tax authorities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provisions and disclosures in financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports and ensure compliance with requirements, if applicable.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field will be considered as a plus.
- 5+ years of in-house or public accounting tax experience, with a focus on tax compliance and planning for corporations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations affecting large businesses.
- Excellent command of English is required (C2 level certification desired, or certificate would be a plus).
- Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable.
- Analytical skills and an eye for detail.
- Interpersonal and commercial skills.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels with ease; ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
