Guild is hiring a Senior Tax Manager to be the point person for all tax matters at our rapidly growing organization. The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for coordinating with our external tax advisors and working with other departments to ensure compliance with federal, state and local taxing authorities. This individual will develop efficient and effective methods to calculate, collect, and remit various taxes such as sales and use, gross receipts, property, and employment taxes. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional with a proven track record of creative problem solving and strong organizational skills.

As the Senior Tax Manager, you will:

  • Work directly with our external tax advisors for all tax matters impacting the Company
  • In conjunction with our tax advisors, provide guidance to other departments on the tax implications of business decisions
  • Manage outsourced income tax compliance process and review US federal and state tax returns and provisions prepared by outsourcing provider
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective process and system to collect and remit various taxes such as sales and use, gross receipts, franchise, and property taxes
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance (combination in-source and out-source model) and accrual process including property tax; sales and use tax; gross receipts tax; and all other taxes other than income taxes
  • Communicate with various federal and state tax authorities 
  • Determine tax requirements and facilitate required filings on equity transactions 
  • Actively participate in the identification and execution of process improvement/best practice initiatives

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies:

  • Combined experience of 7+ years with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and private industry
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA or equivalent credential required
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-state income and sales and use tax
  • Knowledgeable about corporate tax issues, including income tax and tax provisions
  • Familiarity with U.S. Federal, state, and local reporting requirements, including income tax, gross receipts, property, franchise, or other miscellaneous state and local taxes
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with a large volume of data
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively work with tax advisors and team members at all organization levels and in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Knowledge of GAAP treatment of tax
  • Ability to articulate complex tax matters in “business” language.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $140,000 - $162,500, plus bonus opportunity, as well as company stock options.
