About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax/Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing various tax-related functions within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The person for this role cannot be afraid of digging into the details and trying to learn about all other functions of the business.

Responsibilities

    • Reconciling sales tax across the United States and Canada with a large volume of direct-to-consumer transactions.
    • Administer corporate credit card program and expense submission software (TravelBank).
    • Reconcile daily eCommerce platform payouts (PayPal, Shopify, Affirm, and Stripe).
    • Perform monthly US Customs/Duties and Inbound freight Reconciliations.
    • Take on new tasks and projects as needed with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
    • Three years of experience in tax accounting, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and how operational activity will impact the financial statements.
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, the NetSuite ERP system and Avalara (AvaTax).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity with a self-starter, inherently curious, and a creative problem-solving attitude.


Compensation Details
Salary $75- $85k DOE
PTO 10 days. In addition, COAST offers 7 paid days for Holidays.
Kaiser Health Plan Effective the 1st of the month following 30 days from FTE hire date.
401K w/ matching Effective 1-year after FTE hire date
