Senior Technical Accountant

The Senior Accountant serves in a dynamic role with responsibility for complex areas of accounting, with a focus on Equity and Consolidations, as well as project managing many activities. This role will serve as the primary liaison between the company and its external auditors, project manage internal process and system improvements, and oversee equity administration and accounting.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate interactions with consultants and external auditors including managing coordination, communications and follow-ups with the Accounting team
• Project manage various accounting initiatives including close management tools, workflow and document policies, SOX development and accounting system improvements.
• Assists Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting with SEC document preparation and quality review.
• Assists in the preparation of supporting schedules for the Company's annual audits
• Reviews current accounting policies and procedures to ensure current methods conform to Company standards. Take appropriate action by participating in documenting current methods into policies and procedures when necessary
• Prepare Equity roll-forwards, share count details and earnings per share calculations as well as all related 10K and 10Q financial statement disclosures
• Oversee and participate in equity administration in Equity Edge Online, regularly interfacing with HR and Tax teams to ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of data.
• Maintain reconciliations between accounting records and Equity Edge Online and stock Transfer agent.
• Implement best practice processes and controls around Equity reporting and administration
• Coaches and mentors less experienced Accounting staff members
• Reviews and approves transactions and reconciliations prepared by other Accounting staff members including staff accountants and accounting specialists.
• Collaborates within a fast-paced team where independent thought and work-product is required
• Handles various special projects as delegated by Management

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA Preferred)
• 8+ years of general ledger accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibilities preferably with a large, public company or public accounting experience. Experience with Equity Accounting highly preferred.
• 1+ years in a supervisory role
• Big Four Experience Preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Advanced-level experience using Excel, including the ability to work with complex tables and look-ups
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written skills
• Intellectually curious with a willingness and desire to be an agent of change
• Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to quickly develop working relationships across teams and to communicate both up and down the Corporate hierarchy
