Intercept Games is a development studio currently focused on the creation of Kerbal Space Program 2 as well as an unannounced stylized science-based adventure game. The Challenge:Are you a skilled and passionate technical artist, with a love for space exploration, rocketry, worldbuilding, and related entertainment media? Do you possess the ability to bridge the creative and technical components of game development? If you said ‘yes’, this might be the role for you!
As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be the bridge between the Art Team and Engineering Team. You will work in collaboration with the Art Lead to push the visual quality and performance of an unannounced, stylized science-based adventure game. A successful team member in this role is technically minded and a positive relationship builder.
What You’ll Take On- Work closely with the Art Lead, 3D artists, and Engineers to provide tools and asset pipeline assistance.
- Provide expertise and support regarding game VFX, lighting, shader creation, and material optimization.
- Own major areas of the art development process and give solutions and suggestions for improvement across the art and engineering disciplines.
- Playtest with the team and assess the role of game visuals as a holistic part of the player experience.
- 5+ years of professional Technical Art experience.
- An understanding of game art rendering and lighting pipelines, including HLSL shader coding experience.
- Previous experience in VFX creation and support.
- A high level of familiarity with Houdini or an industry-standard equivalent.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills, and an eagerness to collaborate with artists & non-artists.
