Senior Technical Artist (Rigging) - League, External Development

The mission of Technical Art on League of Legends is to establish and improve the systems, tools, rigs, and workflows that unleash the creativity of our artists and allow the production of the best possible art content for our players.

As a Senior Technical Artist on the PIE-C External Development team, you'll use your artistic and technical skills to help guide the development of Character Rigging from external artists. You will work with Product Leads, Delivery Leads, team members, Art Lead, Associate Art Director, and the Art Director, to stay aligned on vision and priorities, and will report to the Technical Art Lead. You will deliver Rigging feedback to external partners across the world and contribute to review sessions.

• Provide technical support to external artists working from our art workflows, collecting data to further improve the tools they are using
• Spread knowledge of the team's processes and help teams expand their technical know-how
• Mentor and support teammates in accomplishing team goals and help them develop as artists
• Develop and Maintain craft bar for Rigging Technical Art
• Find creative solutions to eliminate difficult problems in production and propose improvements to pipelines, processes and techniques
• Communicate with multiple other disciplines to ensure all assets are performant
• Occasional travel overseas to provide training directly to external artists and connect with external teams

• 5+ years experience as a technical artist in games or related industries
• Expertise in digital content creation tools, particularly Maya
• Knowledge of figure and facial anatomy
• Artist empathy & Technical know-how to act as an ambassador between multiple art disciplines and software engineering

• Familiarity with the League of Legends IP and skins universe
• Experience giving direction and delivering clear, constructive feedback to vendors and external artists
• Interest in International travel for onsite training and conferences
• Expertise in game development using modern engines, such as Unreal or Unity
• Proficient Python programmer
