The team
BaaS is an enterprise grade managed data protection service including backup on-prem and on public clouds’ data for an enterprise account. The Hitachi BaaS service includes integrated infrastructure and software in 2 data centers connecting to the diversity of production platforms and applications in within the enterprise, the connection and virtual infra structure on public clouds, and the processes and tools to manage the BaaS service.
Technical Consultant is a key role in the provision of the service with responsibility for ongoing fulfillment of service requests, monitoring and adjusting backups to maintain their health and support in remediation backup failures as well as performing restorations during incidents or to pass audits (operation). Apart from operation, regular patching, daily health check and problem resolution on infrastructure environment is part of the responsibility as well.
Experience
• 7+ years of technical experience on designing and deploying various systems.
• 7+ years of technical experience on designing, planning, and implementing data migration projects.
• 7+ years’ experience configuring and managing VMware virtualization technologies including automating compute and networks.
Qualifications
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft Azure Administrator
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization
• ITIL Foundation Certificate
Responsibilities
• 24x7 on call standby.
• Change request implementation during non-office hours.
• Provide on-site field work in Datacenter.
• Provide technical subject expertise to troubleshoot and identify operational, connectivity issues, providing well-reasoned business cases and arguments to both superiors and colleagues.
• Provide analysis and implementation support for virtualized compute, network and storage solutions across both Hitachi Vantara and Partner solutions.
• Communicate and collaborate with Hitachi Vantara customer stake holders to ensure the efficient delivery of services that meet the contracted SLAs.
• Create detailed technical designs from high level solution designs, based on an analysis of the customer’s environment and requirements.
• Lead large scale complex customer engagements, ensuring technical success.
• Develop project documentation such as test plan, system admin and operation guide, user guide.
• Provide ongoing technical support on problem investigation and resolution.
• Provide ongoing system administration support of infrastructure.
Skills.
• Advanced proficiency in analyzing complex business issues and handling multifaceted problems/projects.
• Ability to conduct in-depth evaluations of situations or data, considering multiple factors for accurate analysis.
• An adept problem-solver and critical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Linux server administration.
• Skilled in backup technologies including data migration, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Communications:
Customer facing role
Good communication proficiency in English and Cantonese.
