Senior Technical Consultant, Network Automation

Responsibilities

• Work with colleagues on developing network automation solutions
• Translate high-level and low-level designs into reality delivering high-impact solutions to our clients
• Work daily in an IDE of your choice to be implementing solutions using a variety of tools and technology such as Ansible, Python, Django, Jenkins, Jinja, pyATS, Terraform, device APIs, Chatbots, and much more.
• Participate in daily standups to review your progress on projects being vocal on what you’ve accomplished, what your next steps are, and if you have any blockers
• Participate in the peer review process by reviewing projects, designs, and code for various network automation projects
• Conduct research to stay updated on the latest trends and projects in the network automation industry
• Build and maintain a CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and maintainability
• Help prioritize feature development based on client deliverables
• Translate manual workflows into automation based on low-level designs
• Work with colleagues to make informed decisions on solutions delivered to our clients
• Articulate AHEAD’s message and common network automation use cases

Qualifications

• Ability to break down complex concepts and present them in a clean and concise way
• Ability to travel at minimum 4 times a year to client sites, additional travel could be for conferences, internal events, and others possible opportunities
• Comfort performing your day-to-day development in a Linux environment
• Extensive experience with Ansible, Terraform and/or Python automating networking devices
• Experience with Django for creating custom APIs
• Awareness of tools and libraries such as pytest, Nornir, NAPALM, and Batfish
• Familiarity with CI/CD and how it could be applied to network automation
• Familiarity with concepts around data management including Source of Truth strategy, NetBox/NautoBot, CMDB, and management of variables within YAML files
• Familiarity with traditional Git workflows for working in a collaborative environment
• Familiarity with Docker, specifically building, maintaining, and deploying custom containers
• 3+ years in infrastructure automation at scale
• Passion for customer experience and success
• Solicitude in helping customers throughout their automation journey
• A collaborative, team approach, working on internal and external efforts
• The drive necessary to see a project through to completion
