Come DESIGN and CREATE with us!Jockey is seeking a Senior Technical Designer, based in our Kenosha, WI Office. We are looking for a flexible, creative problem solver who believes anything and everything can be made better. The ideal candidate will build relationships with internal partners and vendors to ensure products achieve the highest quality and detail in our product. The Sr. Technical Designer will evaluate fit and ensure proper garment construction within the product driving best costs and timelines. In this role you will have the opportunity to work side by side with an incredible team of Technical Designers and influence the overhaul and effects of all product lines created by Jockey.

In this role, the Senior Technical Designer will:

  • Lead the technical garment development for each seasonal delivery.
  • Lead fit session on live model and determine necessary fit adjustments to achieve desired base fit of garments.
  • Collaborate with Designers on fit direction and drive fit platform standards
  • Compile documents of garment spec, fit corrections, pattern analysis, measurements, and construction comments to makers through Adobe Illustrator and PLM system.
  • Work on fits, specifications, and grading recommendations for seasonal developments.
  • Build relationships with makers to understand and support their technical capabilities.
  • Analyze and evaluate garment construction to ensure global compliance of spec and construction are to Jockey's standards
  • Conduct wear tests based to ensure the garment wear-ability and product performance.
  • Ensure timelines are met for all samples milestones. Track and manage workflow and workload product category, gather information and update all reports necessary for status meetings
  • Research, analyze and conduct competitive deep-dive fittings providing learnings and recommendations at style/category level on fit, sizing and construction.
  • Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity
  • Partner with the Materials and Development team to understand fabric and trim properties and timelines for new development garments.
  • Collaborate within the Technical Design team in Hong Kong and Kenosha WI offices to set standards on most efficient construction methods, work process, and best practices.
  • Organize and maintain all fit model requirements, fit session content, results and fit photo library to document fit history.
  • Foster an open communication and team environment with all business partners.
  • Build and develop technical skills of junior technical designers
  • Domestic travel of less than 10%


What you will need to DESIGN with us:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Product Development or Pattern Making.
  • Minimum 7 years of solid experience in apparel patternmaking, grading, and construction or 10 years of experience without a degree.
  • Expertise in understanding of the physical fit; evaluation of body size, shape and the relationship of clothing on the target body
  • Diverse background in all Men's categories; knit & woven tops, knit & woven shorts and bottoms, layering pieces, and underwear.
  • Solid working knowledge of sewing techniques, stitch properties, and overall garment detail.
  • Knowledge of garment fit and ability to articulate fit change recommendations.
  • Experience traveling overseas to work directly with the factory technicians & pattern makers.
  • 3D cad experience is required. Ability to work in Browzwear (3D system) together with Optitex, & V-Stitcher is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of a computerized pattern making system, Gerber Accumark a plus.
  • Elevated sense of style and aesthetic.
  • Problem solver who anticipates challenges and provides solutions
  • Must be detail oriented with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Solid working knowledge of PLM system.
