Seeking aSenior Technical Leadto drive the business by designing, modifying, and developing systems using advanced techniques. Analyze current systems to resolve new and/or existing problems. Evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed system solutions. Prepare project proposals while developing and modifying systems to meet the business need. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead or direct the work of other developers/projects. This position cultivates analysis and development skills by learning new and emerging technologies.
What you do
- Responsible for providing the highest level of technical leadership and application architecture, through advising, consulting, or leading application prototypes and proof of concepts in support of application development projects.
- Leverage technology advances through tactical and strategic technology solutions, reference architectures, frameworks, and components
- Participates in COBOL coding and code reviews; SQL statements, batch job, and online task (CICS, Relational Database, MQSeries / WebSphere) optimization, schedule adjustments, database tuning
- Participates in continual team backlog refinement and prioritization
- Exhibits strong skills in collaboration, influencing, and mentoring other team members in the listed technologies
- Takes on other roles as needed including development, testing, and automation to support the team as needed to meet sprint and product goals
- Participates in the development of improved and innovative ways to utilize current system software, application system development, and programming productivity aids, including debugging and test tools
- Investigates and recommends new methods, procedures, tools, and technologies
- Performs at a high level of technical capability while developing or maintaining application systems within a self-organizing and self-managing environment
- Collaborates with IT management, EA, BA, and team members and to evaluate, design, and provide technical solutions that support the ongoing development of the product
- Dedicated to continuous improvement and learning for the product and as an individual
- Troubleshoot and solve problems with strong debugging skills
- Estimate development effort based on documented business requirements
- Clearly communicate and train others on design decisions and tradeoffs
- Quickly learn, train, and practically apply new concepts or principles
- Work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Share knowledge and champion best practices.
What you bring
- 7+ years of experiences working in large scale mainframe CICS, COBOL, Relational Database complex environments required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Excellent working Knowledge of CICS, DB2, COBOL, and MQ required
- Working knowledge of SOA and API Architecture and the ability to train and guide other developers on these concepts. Experience developing mainframe service programs to communicate with Open-Source front end systems/API
- Experience with various TCP/IP Mainframe networking configurations
- Experience with Scrum Agile software development methodologies
- Working knowledge of CICS Channel and Container preferred
- Experience with the full stack of software development preferred
- Backend (RESTful API) knowledge preferred
- Experience migrating legacy applications to modern architecture preferred
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (Amazon AWS or similar) preferred
- Experience in modern security practices preferred

Salary range $96,422 to $154,276 per year
