Sr Technical Lead
The Sr Technical Lead is responsible for leading analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications or systems software including both systems analysis and programming or configuration of packaged products created by third parties. While working as a thought leader within the department, this job recommends operational strategies and plans that have direct impact on results. This role also influences business decisions made by leadership.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develops strategy and roadmap for delivering innovation and automation while analyzing detailed business requirements and specifications for the application.
  • Configures internally developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
  • Plans application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
  • Maintains relationships with clients while communicating with IT and business management and monitors prompt response and support for technical issues.
  • Receives activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections
  • Lead process improvements, cost reduction efforts, tool development to improve the software development and support process in a way that reduces complexity, improves service, and reduces cost.
  • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals.

Position Description

The Senior Technical Leader is responsible for driving the architectural roadmap for TIAA's CRM Salesforce implementation, providing continuous support for team deliverables across the organization. In this role you will serve as a trusted advisor for stakeholders and a mentor for the development team members. This position will assume responsibility for the integrity, maintainability, and scalability of the existing and future CRM solution design.

This role requires deep understanding of the Sales and Service Cloud implementation and strong technical skills for supporting successful delivery of salesforce capabilities. You will embrace agile development methodologies and recommend best practices based on business needs. You'll interact with stakeholders and teams to ensure that business needs are fulfilled. Core Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product owners, business subject matter experts, and technical team members to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders and developers to solve technical challenges, while leveraging technical best practices and solution patterns for the Salesforce platform
  • Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including technical and functional capabilities
  • Review and advise on Salesforce platform solutions to ensure they comply with leading Salesforce architecture and development practices
  • Understands business drivers and capabilities needed to determine enterprise solution architecture and deliver solutions to support the organization's targeted business outcomes
  • Manage and develop the design for a variety of capabilities and features, working closely with the business, application development, and security teams to deliver a cohesive and adaptable solution architecture
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures
  • Assists in developing and maintaining current and planned state architectural blueprints
  • Communicates architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies


Required Skills:
  • 8 or more years of experience in designing and leading Salesforce projects
  • Has multiple Salesforce Certifications
  • Experience in multiple Salesforce Clouds and solutions including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud etc.
  • Ability to actively make suggestions based on the results
  • Available and responsive to questions and clarifications from team members
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions
  • Balanced understanding of long term and short-term perspectives


Preferred Skills:
  • Performs well in high-pressure, fast paced environment - both independently and as a team member
  • Ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ideal candidate must have a strong background in Salesforce, both functional and technical spanning
  • Effective verbal, written communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Interpersonal and coaching skills


Base Pay Range: $118,800/yr. - $198,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
