As a key technical expert in the Integrated EPC CoE (Center of Expertise), the Senior Technical Manger Renewables will help streamline AES' business units globally, in order to improve local execution and ensure knowledge is readily transferred across AES' portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fielding feedback from EPC topics from around AES, and routing them to the proper locations (e.g. in AES's global standards, AES's global working groups, or to various groups and leaders around the company)
  • Work closely with Legal, Company Managers, and Project Managers to collect lessons learned discovered during the execution of wind, battery, solar, and other renewable projects and incorporate them into contract exhibit templates
    • Reach consensus with groups affected by the lessons learned
    • Incorporate technical lessons learned into contract exhibit templates
  • Technical writing and AES brand formatting.
  • Lead AES global SharePoint organization and provide expertise (document access, page designs, etc.).
  • Document control.
  • Facilitate work groups to define procedures and solve problems.
  • Assist Department Managers in developing and maintaining their own procedures
  • Provides guidance on applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Interfaces with internal and external team members including electrical engineers, global MSA partners and system study preferred contractors, project managers, to ensure proper and accurate technical understanding.
  • Support/Lead development of standards, technical training for teams, optimizations, processes, and provide execution plans.
  • Contributes to IEPC team with report writing, data and industry research, analysis, modelling, etc.
  • Coordinates with operations and performance team to assist businesses on issues and ensure our strategy for asset management considering the project life cycle are reflected in standards and updated frequently with lessons learned.

Experience and background should include:

  • Engineering and construction experience in energy storage projects
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (preferred), renewable engineering, or relevant field
  • 7+ years' experience, power generation or power delivery
  • Extensive Renewable industry technical experience
  • Strong understanding of applicable industry codes (e.g. issues related to environmental and social impacts of batteries)
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook with advanced MS Office skills
  • Thorough knowledge of various kinds of office software (MS Office, Adobe, Bluebeam)
  • Ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and promote recommendations
  • Strong ability to work and collaborate in virtual workplaces
  • Strong collaboration skills and capacity to influence diplomatically within a team environment
  • Self-motivated and work with minimal guidance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, flexibility for additional travel as needed.
  • Degrees or certificates with renewable energy or electricity market focus a plus
  • Have a high proficiency level in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to deliver high quality, detail-oriented documentation
  • Proven technical writing expertise
  • Ability to organize and preserve documents
  • Experience working with many types of files
  • Effective communication with coworkers across departments
  • Experience with high voltage, solar, wind, hydrogen, and/or battery energy systems a plus

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $140,000 and $170,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
