We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Product Development team. As a key leader, you will collaborate closely with dedicated product teams to ensure our products meet and exceed our customers' unmet needs. This role requires a deep commitment to exceptional results, a passion for innovation, and the ability to foster strong relationships with a diverse, multi-discipline team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the product vision and strategy. This includes conducting feature research, running discovery sessions, and taking ownership of the product backlog.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect and analyze various data sources, including industry insights, competitive analysis, and customer feedback, to identify key themes and validate assumptions about product features.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across sales, strategy, data, design, marketing, and legal to drive successful product releases and marketing launch plans.
- Customer Focus: Develop a deep understanding of customer problems and expected outcomes. Evangelize these insights to gain buy-in from leadership and stakeholders.
- Roadmap Ownership: Own and drive the product roadmap strategy and definition, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer value proposition.
- Communication: Clearly convey a compelling narrative and product vision to both internal and external stakeholders. Write user stories and facilitate communication with product teams.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage your strong technical background to understand and communicate complex technical concepts effectively. Contribute to engineering discussions regarding technology decisions and product strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, with a track record of successfully launching and managing technical products.
- 6+ years of experience in product management.
- 2+ years of experience in Payroll/Human Capital Management or similar industries, preferably with a leading SaaS company.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Data-driven, with excellent problem framing and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Customer-focused and outcome-driven.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Leadership skills to guide a product's lifecycle.
What to Expect in Your First Six Months:
- Identify, define, and drive impactful customer outcomes with the Paylocity Marketplace technology team.
- Develop a strong knowledge of our customers, our business, our competition, and the industry.
- Regularly communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to gather feedback.
- Conduct roadmap feature research and run discovery sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful product releases.
- Influence product leadership to define the vision and strategy for product marketing launch plans.
- Monitor the utilization of released functionality, analyze trends, and recommend improvements.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $129,750-$196,514; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
