Senior Technical Product Manager - Compute Platform
Cloud Computing started with Central Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), and evolved into Computing on the Edge. Fastly is leading this evolution with its Compute@Edge offering. We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join the PM team for Compute and help with the definition and execution of the roadmap for Compute@Edge. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to drive significant business and customer outcomes, while building a highly technical platform.
What You'll Do:
- Develop a solid business and technical understanding of the compute platform
- Deeply engage with customers and customer facing teams to provide Product support and get a first hand understanding of customer needs
- Identify customer needs and synthesize them into prioritized roadmap documented
- Document detailed PRDâs taking into account inputs from multiple stakeholders
- Define and monitor product success metrics using data-driven goals
- Collaboratively lead cross-functional and distributed teams by building trusted working relationships throughout the company, at all levels of the organizations
What We're Looking For:Â
We are looking for a self-starter with a natural affinity for the details of complicated systems while remaining focused on the larger vision, great interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for learning, building, contributing and growing with the Product team and the company.
Minimum requirements:
- 5+ years of technical product management experience building/launching IaaS, PaaS or large scale distributed cloud products
- Deeply technical, but be able get out of the technical weeds to prioritize for a business first approach
- Demonstrated successful working partnerships with engineering, customers, and revenue teams
- Ability to think both tactically and strategically to craft a compelling platform product vision and to deliver incremental business value making smart tradeoffs
- Brings a good combination of detail oriented analytical skills coupled with ability to think and operate strategically
- Positive, get-things-done, curious and collaborative nature that thrives in a fast-paced environment
Weâll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these (Preferred requirements):Â
- Prior experience writing code, developing and designing technical products or other software engineering background is strongly preferredÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another relevant technical field
- Experience in building/launching edge compute platformsÂ
- Serverless computing experience
- Experience defining billing models for cloud infrastructure products
Work Hours:Â
- This position will require you to be available during core business hours.Â
Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements
This hybrid position must be based in the San Francisco, California office.Â
Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. Â
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $155,370 to $194,210.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastlyâs equity and discretionary bonus programs.
