ABOUT THIS ROLE
This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Technical Project Manager to play a crucial role in driving projects of our rapidly growing Apex Fintech Solutions organization. In this role, you will help scale the organization by assisting delivery components of larger programs and deliver projects for Apex's Technology organization. You will collaborate closely with the leaders, operations, product, engineering, and other TPMs across Apex.
The role will require constant balance between long term product vision along with addressing immediate needs, driving an incremental approach that is metrics and data driven. It will require communicating effectively with Apex product and engineering leaders on a regular basis while ensuring that the teams are aligned and stakeholders are aware of key performance indicators.
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide project and program leadership and day to day management of specific program and project scope for multiple projects. Monitor and guide project scope, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, risk / issues, and quality of assigned projects
  • Serve as a liaison between the business, product, and technical teams for strategy definition, prioritization, initiative kickoff, tracking, communications, and deployment
  • Partner closely with peers, leaders, and stakeholders to build and drive the strategic vision for Apex's tech product delivery and execution; work with senior leaders to foresee and solve complex problems thereby enabling efficiency and scale
  • Actively manage organizational capacity management through annual, quarterly and sprint planning and operations to protect team delivery commitments
  • Drive organization change management through a planned delivery excellence program, defined roadmap, engagement management with stakeholders, and execution of planned improvements
  • Identify, develop, and put into practice new tools and processes that enable Apex to scale and optimize its product delivery efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proven ability to report on KPI's and OKR's that are representative of the health of the organization
  • Help break down projects into component parts, identifying and tracking dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become blockers
  • Provide ongoing visibility into the progress, risks, and timelines of projects against targeted deadlines to application teams as well as other stakeholders and executive leadership. Make recommendations based on team impact, priorities, and value delivered to our customers
  • Execute communications operations for the Technical Program Management team including operations, project, and status with a strong internal and external customer focus
  • Manage the release of key engineering projects to internal customers in a regular cadence. Document and present team's deliverables at appropriate forums
  • Facilitate project meetings, Scrum ceremony meetings, and project post mortems. Holds the team accountable to come to meetings prepared, and own action items or process improvement outcomes that result
  • Coach individuals and teams on project management best practices
  • Work with teams to clarify goals and deliverables; bring data to planning and prioritization
  • Create and refine processes when necessary; maintain focus on reliability and continual improvements, and automation and scaling
  • Identify KPIs and success metrics, collect and analyze data; make information visible


Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management in a dynamic and highly technical environment, a strong track record in managing multiple complex cross-functional projects in a cloud/SaaS environment
  • Experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the engineering organization

  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizations by building and fostering effective working relationships
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills,
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications for technical and non-technical audiences with the ability to tailor and deliver communications to all levels of an organization from project teams to executive leadership
  • You take a data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques and tools within various software development methodologies ( e.g. Waterfall, SDLC, Agile)
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project, Visio, and other agile collaboration & work tracking tools (Wiki's, Confluence, JIRA, TFS, etc).


Other Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Institute certification (PMP or CAPM)
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Work experience in the financial industry
