Location Note: This a hybrid role for our Wakefield, MA office.

The Purpose of Your Role:

The successful candidate will play an integral role in building and engaging the company’s customer base, and creating effective strategies that will promote long-term growth of our firm.

The Senior Technical Support Administrator will be responsible for providing support to 200+ end users on all IT systems and applications. They will provide customer service, troubleshoot problems, and advise on appropriate actions. The Senior Technical Support Administrator will also be responsible for helping maintaining the desktop, network, and server infrastructure.

What you will bring to Sentinel:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook 2016 and 2019 (365 OWA) at a minimum (Microsoft Access and Vizio is a plus)
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows 10
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019
  • Experience with centrally managed Antivirus applications (TrendMicro a plus)
  • Experience with Hardware/Software troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, Thin Clients
  • Proficiency with Active Directory (Azure AD a plus)
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp, Windows Remote Desktop, or Terminal Servers
  • Experience with monitoring and administration, Exchange Server administration, basic network administration (Office365/Exchange Online a plus)
  • Experience working with a ticket tracking system (FreshService a plus)
  • Knowledge of IP routing protocols, SMTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Basic working knowledge of VMWare vCenter

What you will be responsible for:

  • Work with the IT team to assist with infrastructure upgrades and projects
  • Install and configure new software and hardware
  • Work with end users to resolve issues
  • Write and manage technical documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Help define and establish common system administration functions
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups
  • Perform on-site and remote technical support
  • Provide extended hour support on a rotating schedule
  • Must have the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • College degree in related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Hardware/Software troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, Thin clients
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Systems Driven IT Department
  • 2-3 years of experience providing desktop/laptop/server/network support in a fast paced environment where the technology is constantly evolving

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Apple products
  • Some knowledge of SQL or relational databases
