Rain Bird has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Technical Trainer- Irrigation! Our ideal candidate has a solid irrigation knowledge, experience training/leading in a professional environment, and a desire to be the Subject Matter Expert!

We are known for being an Irrigation Industry leader and we are looking for the right person to join our team of experts to train customers across the country and even globally.

  This role will require extensive travel to conduct trainings with class duration of up to 4- 5 days during our busy seasons. Travel for this role could be up to 50%. This awesome role will sit in our headquarters office in Tucson, along with many other leaders of Rain Bird including our company President.

Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Trainer is responsible for one or more of Rain Bird Service’s for-profit training programs offered through ‘Livestream’ and ‘In-classroom’ delivery to both domestic and global participants.  Typical responsibilities include scheduling events, overseeing the development of course materials, delivering training and coordinating people to deliver training, and developing marketing and sales materials to support events.  The following are critical competencies for this role: Initiative/Drive, Communication, Willingness to Learn New Things, Ability to Speak in Front of People, Strong Technical Acumen, Planning and Organizing, and Adaptability.

•  
• Delivering training both Livestreaming and In-classroom up to 70% of the time
• Ensure their training program(s) has the right mix of classes
• Oversee development of class material
• Set up training events and coordinate the people who deliver the training
• Help to market and sell scheduled training and customized training
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow their training program(s)
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Rain Bird personnel, irrigation contractors, distributors, landscape architects and other key players within the irrigation industry

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent presenter and communicator
• Able to “own” projects and see them through to completion
• Knowledge, skills, ability, and other qualities that will qualify the candidate for promotion
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Driven, assertive, global perspective and results-oriented
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
• Overnight travel, up to 50% of the year

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Adult education experience
• On-line training development, course development or learning management experience
• Services management experience
• Experience developing and managing teams
• Knowledge of and experience in the “green industry”
• Master’s degree in education or business
