Technical writers at nCino create various types of product documentation for the nCino Bank Operating System and its many solutions and integrations. Through individual, hands-on research and collaborative work with development teams and other stakeholders, you'll gain a detailed, highly technical understanding of the nCino product and users. You will apply your expertise to craft content that delivers an exceptional, high-quality experience and enables users to successfully configure and interact with our products.
nCino's technical documentation includes user guides for nCino customers, configuration guides for administrators and nCino employees who implement the software at financial institutions, release notes that highlight our latest solutions for all stakeholders, product presentation materials, Application Programming Interface (API) documentation, and other required release documentation.
At nCino, our writers are members of a cross-functional scrum team that partners closely with Product Management, Release Management, and Engineering to develop and deliver our technical documentation.

Responsibilities
- In partnership with development teams, identify and understand knowledge needs that result from product innovations and other changes associated with each release
- Prioritize and craft documentation according to those knowledge needs, guide the review process, and publish nCino product documentation within defined release deadlines.
- Help drive successful nCino product releases by creating installation guides, upgrade guides, and release notes
- Ensure clarity and consistency within the administrator and user interfaces through product copy and metadata, such as object and field descriptions
- Advocate for user experience through writing clear user interface copy and building accessible and comprehensible documentation suites for features
- Provide content reviews for other writers, applying nCino best practices and style standards
- Work with other content writers and colleagues from a variety of roles to produce and edit written content in support of the nCino product and brand
- Interact regularly with nCino's online user community; answer questions from both internal users and end users, and update documentation based on customer and partner feedback
- Take on supplemental writing and process improvement projects
- Help mentor team members
Objectives
Within the first few months on the job, you will:
- Learn the Salesforce platform and earn your Salesforce Administrator certification
- Create and maintain your own development environment-installing and upgrading nCino software regularly-in order to configure, use, and document the nCino product
- Assertively request documentation resources such as product demos, and use this material to create complete documentation
- Support your fellow writers and help us drive quality and consistency through peer reviews
- Work to continuously improve our writing standards and team processes
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience, education, and superior performance
- Three years of relevant experience
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrable ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences
- Excellent active listening and analysis skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle deadlines and prioritize work in a dynamic setting
- Ability to work independently and as a team collaborator
- Technical aptitude
- Ability to learn a variety of tools, including word processors, collaboration software, and publishing platforms
- Attention to detail
- Interest in software development
- Interest in financial processes
Desired:
- Four or more years of technical writing experience
- Familiarity with Salesforce
- Familiarity with financial services
- Familiarity with API documentation
- Salesforce Administrator certification
- Experience with the software development lifecycle, Agile methodology, and scrum
