Senior Technical Writer

Overview

As a Senior Technical Writer, you will play a key role in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our products. Our team moves quickly and is constantly innovating and reverse engineering popular video games to better create insights for Blitz users. We provide room for full autonomy of engineering decisions within a rapidly scaling ecosystem. This position requires you to be on-site Monday through Thursday in our Los Angeles office with optional WFH on Fridays.

What You’ll Do

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions
• Work closely with developers and data engineers to extract item information, such as game items, characters, abilities, and other relevant data directly from the game’s code or data files
• Process the extracted data to make it suitable for presentation on web pages
• Utilize web development tools and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) to create dedicated web pages for each game within Blitz’s wiki platform
• Populate web pages with the extracted and transformed game item information
• This includes text descriptions, images, statistics, and any other relevant details
• Enhance the search functionality of the wiki to allow users to find specific game items and related content efficiently
• Understanding SEO to win out via Google search is the key priority

What It Takes To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of technical writing experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the gaming industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand highly technical information
• Prior experience with, or a passion for, gaming softwares
