Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and product marketers to plan and create content for products.

What You’ll Do

• Plan, write, edit, test, and improve content including, but not limited to product overviews, configuration documents, and user guides for deep technical database, connector products, and developer documentation such as API reference manuals.
• Interpret complex product features and functions and translate them into a concise, relevant, and readable format.
• Help develop, apply and maintain content standards and evolve the company’s voice.
• Develop documentation templates and provide guidance on best processes to achieve our documentation goals.
• Collaborate with and influence designers, researchers, product managers, product marketers, and engineers to serve a global content audience.
• Adopt a uniform writing style across all media and other platforms for consistency within and outside the Technical Publications organization.
• Share work and give feedback to teammates.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5+ years of experience writing customer-facing product documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical aptitude, especially in the area of database and cloud technologies.
• Ability to use the Aerospike system architecture on various environments to test your documentation. 
• Experience with documentation systems that use the same tools as developers: markdown, Github, static site generators.
• Fluency in technical and common office software such as Jira, Confluence, Google docs.
• Self-motivated and effective in a fluid environment; able to thrive in a startup where things happen fast.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills.
• Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy.

Nice to Have

• Familiar with database products, especially NoSQL solutions, and distributed systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000
