Senior Technical Writer

Client Overview:

Our client is the leading retail chain in Uzbekistan, with about a million regular customers and more than 125 stores in 11 regions. The company operates supermarkets, neighborhood stores, convenience stores, a wholesale store, and an online supermarket. The client also runs two warehouses (dry and temperature-controlled) and a fruits/vegetables hub.

Project Objectives:

The client wants to replace the obsolete DWH solution based on SAP BW and deploy a robust, flexible, and scalable analytical cloud platform based on the cutting edge technology stack. This project will enhance data quality and governance practices and support significant company growth, laying the groundwork for advanced AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for the Data Warehouse, BI platform, and integrated systems.
• Develop user manuals, technical guides, API documentation, FAQs, and other types of documentation.
• Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and business teams to gather necessary information for documentation.
• Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and easily understandable by various stakeholders.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure that documentation is consistent with software and hardware releases.
• Organize and manage documentation repositories to ensure easy access and maintenance.
• Review and edit content created by other technical team members.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical writing.
• Provide training and support materials to help users make the most of the new Data Warehouse and BI tools.
• Create visual aids, such as diagrams, screenshots, and infographics, to enhance written documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer, creating technical documentation for software development projects.
• Strong proficiency in English, with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with documentation tools and platforms, such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar.
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear and concise documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Previous experience in the retail sector.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data warehouse documentation.
• Familiarity with Azure services, such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Synapse.
• Basic understanding of SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Certification in Technical Writing or related skills.
