Division & Business Function: EQ Retirement Solutions (EQRS) and Client Product Delivery (CPD) Testing

Role Summary

The job holder will provide automated testing and quality assurance for the pensions, payroll and L&P configuration deliveries within the EQ Retirement Solutions division.

As a Senior Analyst the job holder may work on various projects simultaneously, as outlined in the CPD department (Client Project Delivery) project and delivery plans. These projects may be client implementations, regulation change, BAU Small change or an application upgrade during the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

The job holder must have good communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues, with the ability to deliver work that meets to the time and quality targets set by seniors within the QA team. The individual must have good analytical skill to understand technical documents such as technical specifications and functional requirements to produce test conditions that can be then turned to automation test scripts.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Provide test automation support, using their experience of automated methods and tooling
• Provide non-automated test supporting (performance and security) in execution and coverage
• Work with the Test Manager and Test Leads to derive the main testing milestones with recommendations for the number of test cycles.
• Change control to original requirements for impact analysis and capture these changes within a traceability matrix or within MS DevOps/JIRA
• Perform peer reviews of the test cases/scripts prepared by other team members
• Defect retesting, fault reviews and defect analysis of any issues raised
• Defect tracking and monitoring - for issues, fault investigations and triage of faults incorporating severity ratings
• Working with Business Analysts and Configurators to produce and agree functional system testing estimates, to support test planning phases
• Supporting the definition of and test data for payroll projects, test cases and expected results
• Provide testing expertise for the UI testing of Web, Desktop and mobile devices
• Provide technical testing guidance for multiple browser testing and device testing (operating systems), supporting risks and coverage reviews
• Setting up the test environment in co-ordination with the technical services
• Fully understand how all aspects of their work integrates with the rest of the SDLC and STLC
• Provide technical testing support for vulnerability testing for application data transfers
• Report, log and track Performance results Log and analyse performance defects
• Provides non-functional automated test supporting (performance and security) in execution and coverage

Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, behaviours and able to fulfil the role:

• Must be ISEB/ISTQB qualified to foundation level
• Ability to create automated tests using the latest automated tools, selenium essential (C#) and QF-Test
• Fully understand how all aspects of their work integrates with the rest of the SDLC
• Possess experience of testing methodologies, defect management system and Database knowledge
• Ability to absorb technical information when it is presented systematically and applies it effectively
• Understands and uses appropriate standard test engineering methods, tools and applications
• Aware of and continues to monitor the latest trend in testing tools available on the marketplace
• Experience in preparing test environment to execute test cases (Test Data)
• Ability to own and advise stakeholders on the level of NF tests for performance and security testing. Providing guidance to our internal and external clients, demonstrating that the application is scalable and there are no vulnerabilities
• Experience of writing test conditions, test scripts with expected results and test data for performance testing projects using JMeter
