Senior Test Analyst x 2 – Glasgow / Central Belt of Scotland

Hybrid – Must be able to commit to 2 days a week in Glasgow City Centre

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Test Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for providing quality assurance across all Programme and Business-as-Usual (BAU) projects, ensuring that deliveries are completed within the timescales outlined during the scoping phase. You will primarily focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Testing, with projects utilising both traditional Waterfall and Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering testing services within both project management frameworks.

As a Senior Test Analyst, you will also be tasked with mentoring and guiding a small group of Test Analysts, defining best practices, and continuously improving testing processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

· Leadership & Mentorship:

o Guide and mentor a small team of Test Analysts, fostering growth and adherence to best practices.

o Define testing standards and practices for the team, ensuring consistency and quality across all activities.

o Continuously focus on improving testing processes and efficiencies to optimize delivery.

· Test Planning & Execution:

o Schedule and coordinate testing activities, ensuring adequate business representation in UAT.

o Ensure 100% compliance with audited testing procedures.

o Actively participate in the full testing lifecycle, including test planning, preparation, execution, and sign-off.

o Manage test environments and prepare data for testing activities.

· Quality Assurance & Reporting:

o Maintain comprehensive documentation to support testing and quality assurance activities.

o Analyse business requirements and functional specifications for smaller-scale changes, evaluating the most effective testing methods within budget and timeline constraints.

o Raise observation reports for all identified issues and ensure timely resolution.

o Expedite the resolution of defects to ensure the timely delivery of software releases.

· Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

o Provide testing expertise during development workshops.

o Participate in and chair release meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure clear communication on testing progress and issues.

o Conduct post-implementation checks to verify the success of software implementations.

o Review third-party documentation and participate in third-party test phases, where applicable.

· Test Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

o Produce and maintain relevant test documentation, including Test Specifications, Test Completion reports, Risk/Issues Logs, Testing Checklists, and Release Meeting Minutes.

o Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members and business users to support testing activities.

o Participate in post-implementation testing to validate system performance in the live environment.

· Tools & Methodologies:

o Experience with Agile testing methods and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

o Proficiency in testing tools such as HP Quality Centre (HPALM), Jira, and Confluence.

o Knowledge of Automated testing methods and tools, such as Selenium and Appium, for testing applications.

o Ideally knowledge of any of the following: Big Data & BI platforms (SAP BW, Oracle Exadata, Hadoop, SAS, Informatica, IBM MDM, Oracle/SQL Server).

System Knowledge & Technical Skills Required:

· Testing Tools & Platforms:

o HP Quality Centre (HPALM), Jira, Confluence.

o Knowledge of SQL, XML and Postman

o Knowledge of Automated Testing Tools: Selenium or Appium.

· Industry-Specific Systems:

o Ideally have knowledge of SAP or and similar CRM

Key Skills & Experience:

· Strong experience in testing across both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.

· Proficient in Agile testing practices, with hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence for test management.

· Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, as well as engage with business stakeholders to ensure effective testing.

· Ideally expertise in automated testing tools (Selenium, Appium) and strong problem-solving abilities to expedite defect resolution.

· Proven track record in delivering high-quality testing services across multiple projects.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
