Senior Test Engineer

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will develop and implement the test infrastructure for our Robotics Systems, managing the design and deployment of test equipment, software, and procedures for initial Design Validation Testing, supplier production testing, and final in house assembly level and robot level testing. Every day you will interact with the product design, software, manufacturing, test, and quality engineering teams to ensure the appropriate test coverage and product performance for the electromechanical assemblies being designed for our robotics systems. To thrive in this role, you must be able to architect and drive the detailed design of test equipment and associated software, and you must be capable of understanding complex electromechanical systems and assemblies at a deep systems engineering level.

Day to day activities:

• Deliver turnkey test solutions for electromechanical parts and assemblies. Work within a team of engineers to bring projects from test planning and ideation through to fully built and validated test solutions
• Collaborating with software and controls groups to develop proper software testing strategies for electromechanical assemblies and complete robotic systems
• Partnering with the supply chain management team to identify flow-down requirements of testing to our supply chain partners
• Training both internal and external manufacturing in the use and support of production test equipment, test programs, and debug processes
• Coordinating with both software and quality teams to create and maintain the data backhaul of tests used for quality control

Desired skills:

• 5+ years of extensive experience in various industries- robotics, medical, defense, with selecting COTS or developing custom testing hardware based on engineering test requirements and developing test software using programming languages such as Python, C/C++ or LabVIEW in both Windows and Linux environment
• Familiarity with analog and digital test and debug techniques of low to high complexity assemblies and systems
• Experience working with manufacturing team members to create test plans and procedures for complex electromechanical assemblies on final assembly lines
• Able to interpret mechanical assembly drawings and provide feedback to mechanical designers
• Experience working with software and control teams in robotics manufacturing test development is highly preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a ambiguous environment with minimal supervision
