Senior Test Engineer - New Product Development

What You Will Do:

To verify the design of new products are safe and effective and meet the requirements set forth by the functional specifications for the device. Verifications include tests on the component level, system level, and platform level. Example tests include video compliance, electrical reliability, environmental compatibility, and power consumption. Responsibilities include: writing and/or reviewing test protocols, designing tests & test fixtures, qualifying test setups and fixtures, performing manual and automated tests, documenting results in test reports, reporting and documenting defects in defect reporting tool and defect troubleshooting activities.

• Testing new products/components/designs and/or design changes to existing products.
• Accountable for the testing on an entire product or feature set from experimentation to design verification. Provides input into product test plans.
• Writes and/or reviews test protocols that document and qualify verification test methods. Innovates testing methods and in-house capabilities.
• Designs and documents repeatable test methods of moderate complexity (conditions to replicate are multi-factored and fixture mechanisms perform multiple functions). Considers method usability of their test method and fixtures (compatibility with product and reliability).
• Coordinates with technicians, supervisors, managers, engineers, scientists, and outside test houses to ensure timely and high quality test execution.
• Writes and/or reviews test reports that document test results and draws conclusions from test data.
• Independently performs statistical data analysis to identify areas of variability, determine sample size, and otherwise analyze normal and non-normal test data.
• Continually seeks to improve current procedures, expand capabilities, and develop themselves and those around them.
• Coordinates with the project test lead and is accountable for a section (i.e. hardware, wireless, or software, etc.) of a verification test plan.
• Complies with internal and external regulations and quality policies at all times; ensuring a safe, positive work environment.
• Participates in and/or conducts various departmental and interdepartmental meetings or trainings.
• Understands the functional specifications of various devices, as well as the intended use of the device.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical/ Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of test engineering experience, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated electrical problem-solving skills and test acumen.
• Strong technical writing skills for reports, work instructions, protocols, procedures, and correspondence
• Must be able to generate, follow, and explain detailed instructions and design parameters.
• Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.
• Must be able to analyze and correct complex designs.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Familiarity with Video Analyzers, HDMI, and 4K Video
• Experience with automation tools such as LabVIEW, Arduino, and/or Python
• Experience with enterprise test management tools (e.g. Jira, Jama, etc.)
• Medical Device experience
