What you’ll do
As the Senior Trade Marketing Manager, you will be the responsible for our overall portfolio & category strategy for our Base business. In this role, you will work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, New Product Development, Operations and Packaging to develop, commercialize, and implement strategic initiatives for our existing portfolio to drive consistent and profitable growth. You will provide business intelligence to help shape long term strategies that will unlock consistent, profitable growth across national channels for our main base business (excluding innovation). You will also be responsible for Sales Operations initiatives across all Trade Marketing, to make sure the Sales team has the right tools and capabilities to successfully sell KIND products. You will have one direct report (Trade Marketing Coordinator) to support you on all these initiatives.
As the Senior Trade Marketing Manager, you will be the internal voice of the customer team across the entire commercialization process and the external voice of the Marketing team across the Sales team and customers. You will have many high visibility opportunities across the organization and this role will allow you to make a large impact on the business.
And this is how you will do it…
- Developing an overall multi-channel Go-To-Market Strategy
- You will spearhead case pack & pricing architecture across National Channels (Mass, Grocery & Ecom) partnering with SRM / Brand and Sr. Trade Marketing Manager for Growth Channels
- Developing channel specific marketing and support initiatives
- Partner with the innovation team (Trade Marketing and Brand) on the overall Trade Marketing Strategy
- Leading the development of “best in class” standards for respective channels (considerations include, but are not limited to packaging, design, value architecture, etc)
- Leading the relationship with Sales from a Trade Marketing standpoint to support the different strategies by channel
- Developing an overall Point of Sale Strategy
- Develop and implement a Shippers Strategy that aligns with the overall KIND strategy
- Align and partner on strategy with SRM and Perfect Store teams to maximize Promotion and PS initiatives
- Partner with Demand Planning, Supply planning and Sales to execute strategy, maximizing Sales and minimizing waste
- Develop other POS materials such as Racks, Half Pallets or Displays
- Being the voice of the customer to the internal HQ team and being the voice of HQ to Sales
- Will become lead consultant and representative for respective channels ensuring consideration of marketplace dynamics for respective customers are taken into account as projects, initiatives or issues arise
- Will represent Sales in internal meetings such us DX, Step 1 and Step 2
- Will provide help to Sales, building customer specific selling stories and helping with customer meeting preparation
- Will work with Analysts and Coordinator to make sure we have right tools to support the sell-in process: Samples, Mock ups, etc
- Leader in channel specific analytics
- You will share insights on consumption, retailer dynamics, customer specific promotions, shelving, etc. to help inform strategic direction for the channels
- Execute the Path to Purchase fundamentals in this channel; including but not limited to category captain insights & best in class aisle flow and organization
- Work to commission specialized e-commerce vendors and initiatives to enhance our online presence
- Leader in main Trade Shows of the year
- Work with sales partners and agencies to develop the booth and overall materials for the main Trade Shows (Expo West, NACS, NAMA)
- Partner with Sales and Coordinator on Trade Shows Execution
- Budget management

- 6+ years of Marketing and/ or Sales experience (Ideally both)
- Cross functional exposure to other Business Operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
- Omnichannel expertise preferred
- Good understanding of Customer Management Process
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI, Kantar, Panel Data, A&Us)
- Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills
- Computer proficient (Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal and time management skills
- Based in NYC area preferred, ability to travel to NYC on a regular basis if not
The salary range for this role is $107,500 - 137,700 per year.
KIND intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the total rewards that KIND provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. KIND salary ranges are determined by role, level and location.
