Senior Trade Support Engineer

As a Senior Trade Support Engineer at Geneva Trading's London office, you will play a crucial role in supporting our over-the-counter (OTC) trading operations. Leveraging your expertise in trade support and proficiency in Python, you will work closely with OTC traders to ensure smooth and efficient trade execution, resolve technical issues, and optimize trading systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Trade Support: Provide comprehensive technical support to OTC traders, assisting with issue resolution and troubleshooting across trade capture, reconciliation, position management, and other related aspects of the trade lifecycle. 

1. System Maintenance: Ensure the trading systems operate with optimal reliability and performance, performing routine checks and updates as necessary. 

1. Process Improvement: Actively identify and implement enhancements and automation opportunities to streamline trading operations and increase efficiency. 

1. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with traders, technology teams, and stakeholders to drive advancements in our OTC trading system, keeping it at the leading edge of the industry. 

1. Risk Management: Continuously monitor risk and position tools, along with other systems, to verify data accuracy and uphold strong risk management practices. 

1. Compliance Reporting: Support the upkeep and management of compliance reporting systems to ensure robust and efficient regulatory adherence. 

1. Documentation: Keep detailed records of trade support activities, system configurations, and procedural updates. 

1. Training and Mentoring: Mentor and provide training to junior team members, promoting skill development and professional growth. 

1. Systems Support: Handle general hardware and software issues on trading workstations to ensure a seamless technological environment. 

 Requirements:  

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field.  

1. Proven experience in trade support within a financial services firm, preferably with exposure to OTC trading including knowledge of future and swap markets, including balmo and tas trading.  

1. Familiarity with exchanges such as ICE and CME. 

1. Familiarity with vendor systems such as WebIce, ICE Connect, CME Direct, Bloomberg or Reuters.  

1. Demonstrated experience with post-trade regulatory reporting and audit trail requirements, familiarity with MiFID and EMIR regulations, and exchange audit trail is a plus. 

1. Previous experience with supporting proprietary trading systems and tools. 

1. Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Linux, SQL and Excel.   

1. Strong proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks.  

1. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.  

1. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with traders and developers.  

1. Prior experience in proprietary trading, risk management and regulatory compliance is a plus.
